Things have really changed so much on Ebay for sellers. I think Ebay realizes it as well. I've noticed over the last few months, they have had several discounts on their seller fees.
Several years ago, it was easy to sell your auctions. Now, it's harder. You may pay up to $1.00 to list your item, and it never sell. Do this repeatedly and even if your item does sell, you've probably lost money.
I think one of the worst features Ebay added that really hurt sellers is the watch it now feature. It used to be that people would have to place a bid to watch it. Now, no one bids until the last moment. And the people that might have been interested could be at work or out when it ends. So sometimes it doesn't sell. That feature may be great for buyers, but it's horrible for sellers.
I've noticed that the price of a lot of things on Ebay have went up. When I say this, I am talking about the items for sale. Is it any wonder? With having to pay Ebay and Paypal fees, sellers have to increase the cost of their items to even try to turn any kind of profit.
If I found another auction site that had even half of Ebay's traffic I would try to sell there. As long as they didn't have Ebay's overinflated auction prices.
There are a few people that even now make a really good income. I don't know how they do it. It might be because they purchased bulk items. But a lot of times when you purchase bulk items you have to pay really high fees. Because you are having to buy a few thousand of the items.
If you are skilled at something and you can find your niche, you have a chance of making good on Ebay.
Work at home job lead. Unresearched. I have applied for this as well, and I am keeping my fingers crossed. It looks really easy to do. Just remember never pay for employment!

I noticed on Ebay's website that they are waiving insertion fees for this month. But of course, there is always a catch. If you purchase gallery and start your listing at $9.99 or less, the insertion fee is free. It's only 25% off if you purchase gallery and list your item at $10.00 or more.
Years ago, before they raised the prices of their fees I sold a lot on Ebay. It was really fun. And the extra money helped. But over time, it has cost more and more. Even if your item doesn't sell. So if you are like most sellers, you will list it until it does. But by the time it does sell, look at how much you have spent on fees. Is it even worth it?
When you sell on Ebay, you have to pay listing fees, final value fees, and if you take Paypal fees if you accept Paypal. That is taking a good chunk of change.
I feel that if your item doesn't sell, you shouldn't have to pay. Ebay is making a huge profit off of its sellers. So because of Ebay's ever increasing fees, sellers are having to list their products higher and higher. And customers are having to pay more and more.
Some people make pretty good off of Ebay. But I would hate to see their monthly bill.
