"Lakelubbers.com needs a few part-time lake writers to help build our database of USA lakes during 2008, then worldwide in 2009. You'll work from home, when you have time available, as an independent contractor. Our writers typically work about 15 hours per week to produce 5-6 new lake write-ups, but you can work less if you wish. If you meet the qualifications below, please see "How to Apply".
I checked out this opportunity last night. It looks like a great way to make some extra cash. They don't tell you how much they pay on the website. With the internet, the work would be so easy. You simply research, and write an article about the available lakes.
To work this job, you will need to have good research skills and good writing skills. It looks like they will be needing people this year, and next year when they go worldwide.
Qualifications:
- Excellent spelling, grammar, and writing skills are required.
- Your internet research skills must be very good. We will help you to improve your lake-specific research skills.
- You must pay careful attention to details. We need a high level of accuracy in our lake listings and require that you never violate copyrights.
- You must have a high speed internet connection, because this job requires extensive research via the web.
To apply, visit their website by clicking here.

There are some very exciting things happening behind the scenes here at Corporate Eye. We’re soon going to be expanding the range and scale of our services, and are recruiting people to help us with this.
At the moment we’re looking for a blogger with an interest in corporate media relations, who can write about good examples of best practices in the media section of corporate websites. We're mostly interested in the major listed companies (FTSE100, FTSE250, S&P500, Eurotop300 etc) but if a smaller company is doing something interesting in their Media section, we'd like you to write about it.
We’ll be looking for 2-3 posts per week, each of 500-800 words, and plan to pay US$20/£10 per post, monthly by PayPal. We’ll also post a mini-bio with a link to your own site if appropriate (we need to be sure our links out are work-appropriate because of our audience).
Each post should fall into one of the following categories:
discussion of tools or techniques used by companies,
comparison of how different companies handle media relations on the internet
discussion of the issues faced by companies with respect to media relations on their sites.
If you have ideas for other material, we’d be pleased to hear them.
Each post should contain a link to the site under discussion, and at least one image, ideally a screenshot of a relevant page on that corporate site. We like to use Snag-It for this, but this would be up to you. In case it matters to you: we use WordPress.
To apply, please tell us why you think youd be an ideal candidate for this; send us links to previous work; and an on-topic sample post if your previous work doesnt cover that area. If your sample post is suitable, well post it - and pay for it - whether or not your application is successful.
If this role interests you, do get in touch via jobs@corporate-eye.com.

I am seeking an editor to review and critique several small writing projects I am working on. My projects include presentations I am doing, speeches (current one is 20 pages), some shorter 1 or 2 page essays, documents I've done for church, etc. Basically, I do a variety of writing for different reasons and I would like someone to evaluate them for content, flow, grammar, style, readability, punctuation, etc. I am looking for someone who will critique more than just grammar. I'd like someone who will challenge the way I communicate my thoughts and give me concrete suggestions for making my writing more effective. I am seeking very detailed feedback.
Please let me know your experience as an editor/writer, your
turnaround times, your rates and how you accept payment. Also, I am
looking for someone who is VERY comfortable working electronically via
email. I prefer using Word and would like someone who can use the
Insert Comments function to provide feedback and who will also make
edits in the document.
