As some of you know from previous blog posts, I haven't been very happy with the changes ChaCha made a few months ago.
And here we go again.
A few weeks ago, Kentucky had severe ice storms that pretty much knocked me out of power for almost two weeks. During this time, I wasn't able to login to ChaCha. After power was restored, my internet was still down and today has been the first day that I've really been able to check things out.
It made me want to go back to bed.
Apparently, ChaCha is doing it again. They have now found a way to cut the pay again. They've decided to set pay rates per category. Of course, we won't be making a steady .20 per question now. In fact, because of their changes a few months months ago, only top guides were able to make the .20.
Maybe all the ChaCha guides should just offer their services for free. Basically that seems to be want they want to pay us for our work. Rolling eyes.
It really stinks that many companies that hire homeworkers look for ways to pay below even the most minimum wage. Thousands of homeworkers offer the best of services to these companies, and instead of appreciating the people working for them, they look for ways to just screw them over. It's really sad. Without the guides that are working for ChaCha, they wouldn't have a business.
So if you ever considered working for this company, it would probably be better to skip them. I've heard from other guides that they are constantly dropping the pay. It's not worth it.

How many of you are like me, and you love to do your shopping over the internet?
There are so many benefits to shopping online. When you shop online, you aren't limited to just buying what one store has to offer. You basically can find just about any toy or gift idea you want. Once you have decided on what you like, you can then comparison shop to get the best deal.
You can even take your Christmas gift shopping one step further by using a price comparison website like Savebuckets.co.uk. I'm telling you, this website has it all. They pull the best prices from many, many websites and show it to you on the screen. After that, it's just a matter of picking the Christmas gift you want to purchase. This website takes the phrase cheap toys to an all new level!
The Nintendo Wii is a really hot gift idea this year. Kids and grown ups alike love to play this. The games aren't to expensive either. Need to purchase a gift for someone that is health conscious? Get them the Nintendo Wii fit with Wii Balance board. This website offers it at a great price. The Wii fit has more than 40 exercises to get you in shape.
Really, I am amazed at the amount of great deals they have on the website. You could literally Christmas shop for the whole family here, and save money.
I wanted to post an entry and kind of update everyone on the whole ChaCha fiasco.
Ten days or so, ChaCha made some changes to their system. No longer can people text in an unlimited amount of questions. Infoseekers are now restricted to 20 questions per month.
At the same time, ChaCha has started their categories classification for their guides. Since this time, nothing has been the same.
At first, it was said that it was an error. Guides went from getting questions to nothing. And I do mean nothing. No questions. Time passed and the whole working on the error message went away. Guides are still not getting questions.
Many, many guides are only making a few dollars from working a full shift.
I really think it's a shame that things like this can happen. There needs to be a federal agency established to govern companies that hire homeworkers. To many homeworkers find themselves in situations like these or worse.
It's not fair to uproot 25,000 or so people that relied on ChaCha for their incomes. Emailing them doesn't help. ChaCha is known for their vague responses if they bother to answer at all.
So where does this leave everyone that works as a guide for ChaCha? Only time will tell. I doubt the situation will improve by much. Should it, I will be sure to post it.

I had planned on using the title, "The Beginning of the End for ChaCha," but honestly that happened months ago.
I've seen a lot of changes at ChaCha in just the short time I have been working for them. Many of these changes have not been for the better.
There seems to be website problems constantly. They have added a button where other guides can rate your answers. It seems like a lot of guides are complaining about a lot of other guides. Now, they've done something where nobody is getting any questions. Without questions, you aren't making money.
It wasn't to long ago that they made the change to performance pay. With this, many guides experienced pay cuts. Many of these same guides decided to leave ChaCha. There were a lot of people wondering where their next paycheck was coming from. Now, here we are in the same situation again.
It's really sad because it seems like there is a constant upheaval going on with the whole ChaCha deal. It could be a really great thing if they would just leave things alone. With the constant changes though, it's turning out to be a negative experience.
So now, once again, I have to wonder where things are going to stand at ChaCha in a month or even a week later.
